A tour of the old YAAM
Berlin is full of distractions, time and time again I find myself stumbling home in the early hours of the day after planning just a couple of quite drinks and some live music. But I’m not complaining. These occasions always bring about unexpected encounters.
So while making the trek from Ostbahnhof to Warschauer at 3am I noticed the ruins of the old YAAM and I couldn’t help but go for a little exploration.
I remember my early days as a guide in Berlin finishing my tours here. There was always a mass of people, the best african food in the city with the hottest chilli sauce in Berlin. The markets were always on in the graffiti covered court yard. No better place to end a day walking around the city. Shoes off toes in the sand and a cheap beer by the river Spree.
Well YAAM was forced to move and though the new venue is still the same vibe with a few added extras, I will always have fond memories of the old YAAM. I grabbed a few shots while I was there. If you think this place looked cool then you should check out the NEW YAAM
